Seth Johnson

Acquired from Baltimore in the 2024 Gregory Soto trade (along with Moises Chace), Johnson was a 2019 first-round pick who had Tommy John surgery in 2022. He works with a four-seamer that has averaged 97 mph and can climb into the high 90s, a high-80s slider, a low-90s split-change, and an occasional mid-70s curveball. Command remains the swing factor; when he is around the zone he misses bats, but a somewhat rigid arm action leads to mistakes hitters can drive. The Phillies have shifted him to the bullpen.
