A 2025 second-round pick out of Iowa, Obermueller pairs a low-90s fastball that touches 95 with a plus sweeper, and is leaning more on his changeup after right-handers have hit him harder than lefties. He missed time this spring with mono but has since ramped back up. His smaller frame and still-developing pitch mix carry some relief risk, but the Phillies are betting his draft-year gains hold up enough for him to start.
